Waltham Chase litter pick

Our first ‘rubbish walk’ in February started at Waltham Chase Village Hall and ended in the same spot with a sizeable haul of rubbish.

Armed with bin bags, litter pickers and hi-vis tabards seven volunteers gathered a pile of rubbish, a fair amount of which was from outside the primary school.

So why litter picking?

All the litter we gather prevents waste clogging up the environment or degrading and causing harm. It’s a great way to meet up with others in the community and take part in a little gentle exercise while giving back to the village.

We aim to do three or four sessions a year, any regular litter pickers in the village are very welcome to join us, as are newcomers.

Our thanks to Shedfield Parish Council for providing equipment.
