We are look for volunteers to host an outdoor air quality monitoring to complement the existing monitor in Swanmore. Ideally we would like to see 3-4 monitors across Waltham Chase and Swanmore to help rule out hyper-local pollution spikes.

The unit we are using is a relatively inexpensive airgradient Open Air, a small device that sits outside and requires a USB power supply to operate.
AirGradient is a company that builds open-source air quality monitors for indoor and outdoor use, measuring PM2.5, CO2, temperature, and humidity. It promotes affordable sensors, community data sharing, and real-time dashboards for environmental awareness, helping schools, homes, and organizations improve ventilation and health decisions globally.
The unit cost is $125 (US dollars) in kit form (or $225 fully assembled).

The unit provides a live data stream showing current air quality.
